Product details

This cultivar dates back to at least 1838 but still remains quite uncommon.

Acer cappadocicum Rubrum is a medium to large tree with a rounded habit. The young dark red leaves turn green and then back to red gold and yellow in autumn. This superb autumn colour lasts for many weeks.

Although best on moist well drained soil it is adaptable and flourishes in either full sun or light shade. It is best grown with a little shelter from strong winds.

A good tree for avenues and verges but not good where soil becomes compacted.
